Community Legal Education
The LGBTIQ Legal Service can consider requests for training to the community on legal issues that impact upon the LGBTIQ+ community.
If you would like to request training, please contact our service via [email protected] or (03) 7037 3208.
We also provide capacity building and professional legal education and training. You can find more information about this here.
Advocacy and law reform
The LGBTIQ Legal Service is staffed by members of our diverse community who have expertise in many areas of law relevant to the LGBTIQ+ community. We work with LGBTIQ+ health and advocacy organisations and government bodies to deliver better outcomes for LGBTIQ+ Victorians.
Through our work, we identify systematic issues and barriers to access to justice. We then use our Law reform work to educate and persuade decision makers to make fairer policies and laws.
Media and Awareness
The LGBTIQ Legal Service is constantly working to create a greater understanding of the legal issues that impact on our communities and can be contacted for media comment and consultation in these areas.
